Protective Dental Sealants

Sealants are used to place a barrier between tooth enamel and the potentially harmful plaque and tartar buildup. Often recommended for young patients who are still learning to properly care for their smiles, dental sealants can be quickly and easily placed during any six month checkup at Vista Dental Care. Dental Sealants may also be beneficial for adult patients who have thinner enamel layers, struggle with frequent tooth decay, or those who have deeper pits and grooves in the biting surfaces of their teeth. We simply coat the teeth in liquid sealant. Then, a curing light is used to harden the dental sealant into position. Once in place, dental sealants will remain effective for several years.
